A Twisted Tale
Auntie Anne’s®story
Anne Beiler, the original Auntie Anne, began making pretzels to support her husband’s vision for a family counseling centre. In 1998, they bought a stand at a farmer’s market in Downingtown, Pennsylvania and began selling their hand-rolled soft pretzels. In no time, a legend was born.
In June 2006, Auntie Anne’s®sold its billionth pretzel, and today, the company has over 950 locations in 43 states and 16 countries. Not bad for a couple starting out at a farmer’s market. Best of all, Auntie Anne’s® still makes theirpretzels the same way that Anne Beiler did – hand-rolled and baked to golden perfection.
Auntie Anne’s®in Canada – The Rollins story
Like Anne Beiler, Maurice Rollins started small and grew his family business into the great success it is today, by having a strong vision and superior commitment to customer
service. Along with building over 8,000 homes and managing a number of nursing homes and retail sites, Maurice and his family founded the Journey’s End hotels, building it into
Canada’s largest hotel chain.
In keeping with family tradition, Maurice’s son, Mark, who became Senior Vice President of Development after joining Journeys End Corporation in 1982, will focus on building
the Canadian Auntie Anne’s success story with the same care, quality and pride.
Maurice along with Mark and their Director of Operations, Carl Williams, form the core of the development group, and will ensure that Auntie Anne’s is as successful in Canada
as it is in other parts of the world.
